Late hours

here i lay, watered with crystalline desires
stale-steaming lost in previous words
a full hand of frost bitten fingers rest inside of my mouth
at the bottom of the dive-bar floor.
it doesnt matter if this eyes are open or shut.
and my eyes are bright or not.
and however this night wont end
this time i ll slip away
it seems as if, through all these barren days,
there is no room for young hearts like me.
i take the last call for a drink, bars closing down
where are we going? where is home?
i can t go far, i had a rough night, i am tired.

one day you ll be blind
when the whites of your eyes are tattooed with bright lines
a flower bed beneath a window sill
where red painted flowers grow in scorched earth
tears. black. water them dripping wet.
what is this life, every map is written in a tounge i cannot read.
and i wish
one day you ll be blind.
that you beg you cannot see.
when bright lights in your eyes, a soft cotton fog
dig a dozen holes, purging you from your hopes.
this world was made for you, not for me.

the same ocean under a blazing sun shimmers like diamonds.
the same bluest sky with clouds glimmer like silver.
but when you talk
the sun is yours and when i hear
the sea bed is mine.
i am the non iridescent gull beside your feet
with a chipped beak and crooked neck
my feathers place ripples in the water as i stumble forward
your hands curl tightly around my wings
so i cant move away
i try again and again to escape,
but my aging skin keeps wrapping me in,
singing in a blistering harmony with the end.
